Virtual Valspar Championship

Official Rules

To ensure a smooth, enjoyable, and fair competition, all participants must adhere to the following rules and guidelines.

General Rules

1. Eligibility:

   • Participants must be thirteen (13) years or older to enter.

   • Registration requires a $75 entry fee. Each participant's fundraising goal is $250 or more, which will directly benefit CFY Pinellas.

2. Event Format:

   • This is an in-person event held at the USF Rec Center – Esports Arena.

   • Field size is capped at 120 participants to ensure an optimal experience.

3. Game Specifications:

   • The tournament will use PGA TOUR 2K23, with participants playing as default or custom characters allowed by the game.

   • Players may bring their own keyboard or controller, but no personal gaming systems are permitted. All systems and peripherals will otherwise be provided by the organizers.

 

Gameplay Rules

1. Round Duration:

   • Each participant will play one round (18 holes). While 45 minutes is the ideal time to complete the round, players are allowed up to a maximum of one (1) hour.

2. Scoring:

   • The lowest total score after 18 holes wins.

3. Tie-Breaker Criteria:

   • Most eagles scored.

   • Most birdies scored.

   • Fastest completion time within the allotted hour.

   • If a tie persists, the prize will be split equally.

4. Do-Overs:

   • No restarts or replays will be allowed. All scores from the first completed round are final.

 

Conduct and Equipment Rules

1. Sportsmanship:

   • All players must act respectfully and professionally toward fellow participants, staff, and organizers. Unsportsmanlike behavior or harassment will result in immediate disqualification.

2. Cheating:

   • Use of external software, unauthorized equipment, or in-game exploits is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.

3. Equipment:

   • Players may use personal keyboards or controllers but must use the gaming systems and setups provided at the venue.

 

Venue Rules

1. Location:

• The event will take place at the USF Rec Center – Esports Arena.

1. Prohibited Items:

• No food, beverages, or alcohol are allowed in the gaming arena.

1. Arrival:

• Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their assigned tee time.

1. Tee Times:

• Official tee times will be emailed to all participants one week before the event. Players are responsible for being ready at their designated time.

 

Prizes and Recognition

1. Top 5 Players Paid:

   • Prize pool payouts will be awarded to the top 5 finishers based on the final standings.

2. Winner Recognition:

   • The tournament champion will be invited to the 2025 Valspar Championship to take a photo with the official tournament trophy.

 

Disclaimers

1. Final Decisions:

• All decisions by tournament organizers are final. Appeals will not be entertained.

1. Liability Waiver:

• By participating, players acknowledge that organizers, sponsors, and venue staff are not liable for any injuries, technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
